ISI SURAT OBAMA kepada IMAM BESAR MASJID ISTIQLAL JAKARTA
Surat tersebut ditandatangani sendiri oleh Obama dan istri, Michelle Obama. Berikut isi surat Obama :
“I am honored to have had an opportunity to visit this magnificent mosque, which stands as a symbol of the role of Islam in guiding the lines of millions of Indonesians. I hope my visits promotes greater understanding between peoples of different countries and different faith for we are all children of God.”
(Saya merasa terhormat memiliki kesempatan untuk mengunjungi masjid yang mengagumkan, yang berdiri sebagai simbol peran Islam dalam membimbing jutaan rakyat Indonesia. Saya berharap kunjungan saya mendorong pemahaman yang lebih besar antara masyarakat dari berbagai negara dan iman yang berbeda untuk kita semua sebagai putra-putra Tuhan).
